Usana executives highlight significant growth in Mexico

Mexico, Jun. 13 (Notimex) .- Usana's US health, nutrition and dietetics firm has had steady growth of double-digit in Mexico since 2011, said its CEO Carlos Zozaya.


Interviewed as part of the presentation of its new offices in the Lomas de Chapultepec area, in Mexico City, the chief said that the increase has been constant throughout the 13 years of operation in the country, and stressed that only in the last two years there was a 22 percent increase.


He said that the new facilities represent the fourth expansion of the company, which will also expand its labor and services, as well as products based on cellular nutrition research.


In this regard, Usana vice president for Latin America, Carlos Ledezma, recalled that the company has invested three million dollars this year, and in the next year the budget will grow.


He said that the company has plans to expand its infrastructure and training distributors, "because it is the best investment we can make, since the employees are the engine and the reason for celebrating this anniversary."


According to Carlos Ledezma, Usana México registered 22 thousand active distributors and 9 thousand preferential customers until last May.


Although the company has a presence in 20 countries, in Latin America the market range covers United States, Mexico and Colombia, also the company has plans to reach two South American countries shortly.


Both executives agreed that science, research and development play a crucial role in the production of nutritional supplements, "this is our DNA and it is what distinguishes us in the market."
